Storing Garlic

All garlic should be stored in a container with good air circulation, such as a garlic keeper or mesh bag, in a dark, cool, relatively dry location. The refrigerator is not the best place to store garlic indefinitely. Garlic that is undamaged, has been properly cured and well-stored, will maintain bulb quality and flavor for months.

If garlic is to be replanted, the grower must take into account the number of bulbs desired and retain enough of the harvest to have the appropriate number of cloves that will yield bulbs the following spring.
